Yes, Riderwood residents set out their yard waste the same night as recyclables, on Tuesday nights to be picked up the following morning. Yard waste is mainly bush or shrub trimmings, weeds and other plants gathered while working in the yard. However, they CANNOT BE SET OUT IN PLASTIC BAGS.

WHAT DAYS ARE OUR TRASH AND RECYCLABLES PICKED UP ON?
Recyclables and yard waste are set out on Tuesday nights and picked up the following morning. Garbage is set out on Thursday nights and picked up the following morning. For holidays, pickup days shift one day later the week of the holiday or for the following week, please check the pick up schedule on Howard County's website. Recyclables, yard waste or garbage can only be put out for pickup on the designated days, NO EXCEPTIONS! ARE THERE LIMITS TO WHAT WE CAN SET OUT FOR PICKUP ?
The answer is YES. Howard County has stipulations according to what they will and will not pick up for recyclables, yard waste and garbage. For instance, yard waste must be bundled in special paper bags before they will take it and no yard waste will be picked up in dark or black garbage bags on pick up days. DOES HOWARD COUNTY PROVIDE RECYCLE BINS AND GARBAGE CONTAINERS FOR PICKUP?
Yes, they provide recycle bins for recycling, however, they do not provide garbage containers. We encourage everyone to purchase garbage containers with lids to prevent animals from getting into their garbage at night after setting it out for pickup. We also encourage our residents to get the recycle bins with lids to prevent their recyclables from blowing around the neighborhood on windy nights before they are picked up the next day.
