The Riderwood Community Review

____________________________________________________________________

Remember we have children who play in our neighborhood. Please slow down when driving, obey the speed limit and help avoid an accident no one wants to happen. Also, remind your guests when visiting to be mindful of our children playing and to only park in designated parking spaces.

Be Careful When Gardening

Two copperhead snakes have been seen in the front yards of homeowners on Calm Sunset   and these snakes are very poisonous. Please be careful when gardening and tell your childern    to watch where they step and play to avoid any encounters. Snakes will usually avoid contact with humans however they will protect themselves when threatened. Warn your children, if they see a snake run away and tell an adult, don't try   to do anything themselves. Howard County Animal Control does not handle snake situations so no need calling them.

Let's keep our community clean by making sure trash is in the containers and not on the street!

Recycle! Recycle! Recycle!!!

 Walking the Dog

Walking the dog is a popular activity in the Riderwood community and along with this activity comes responsibility. If your dog decides it can't wait to go to the bathroom before the walk is over, it's your responsibility as the owner to clean up after it. Leaving feces in common areas is not only a health hazard but is punishable by a fine from Howard County.

 Crime in the Community

Please remove all valuables from your vehicles when unoccupied to deter any criminal activites. Also, we are asking residents to work with their neighbors to alternate leaving their front porch lights on during the night to light up areas in our neighborhood that don't have much lighting. Motion detecting lighting is a great way to save money on lighting bills yet come on when it detects motion outside your home. This hopefully will discourage criminal activity. Be aware of your environment, report suspicious activity to Howard County Police and watch your neighbors back while they watch yours that way we all help each other.
